District 214 winners thank community

We want to thank all of the citizens of District 214 that voted for us and High School District 214 on April 7.

District 214 has long history of providing students of our communities with outstanding high school educations. Your positive vote affirm your support of the educational excellence embodied in District 214.

We particularly want to thank all of the members of the "Friends of District 214 Committee" and the volunteers that supported us. Many people came forward to circulate signature petitions, walk precincts, send postcards, distribute information at train stations, write letters to the editor, display yard signs and donate funds. Without the support of these marvelous volunteers much of what was done during the campaign would not have been possible.

We thank the League of Women Voters and the Mount Prospect Chamber of Commerce for hosting candidate forums which provided the opportunity for all candidates to be seen and heard by the community. We also want to thank John Hersey High School for hosting a candidate forum which provided students the opportunity to hear candidates for their board of education.

Finally, we want to thank our families for their support. They were always there to offer encouragement and understanding throughout the campaign.
