Illinois might be overrated at 37th
These are the stories as they ran one night on Fox news. The lead story I saw was a 15-year-old shot, neighbors patching holes in the street with money out of pocket because the city does not have funds to fill them, Armitage shops closing and the store owner interviewed claimed it was not only the economy but also the fact she was robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight. The last story I saw before turning off the news was that Nebraska was the happiest state to live in and Illinois was thirty-seventh.
Is this a surprise to anyone? In a state such as Illinois. that has the highest taxes in the nation, a hostile attitude toward small business, politicians who spend like a they have a magical money tree, Quinn wanting to raise taxes during a downturn, same politicians who think that by raising taxes they will foster growth.
A state that spends millions in social programs and for illegal immigrants as well and Chicago is a sanctuary city claims it is short of funds.
Daley has taxpayer-funded police protection and demands his subjects cannot protect themselves. I did not know anyone could be shot in Chicago since they have very strict gun control and there aren't any guns.
Chicago also has a poor public education system to boot. I am surprised we are thirty-seventh, I would have ranked us lower. Any surprise again that liberal Democrats run the state.
