Cement mixer stolen:
Naperville Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the theft of a concrete mixer. According to police, a gas-powered Essick 7-cubic feet concrete mixer was stolen about noon April 26 from a driveway in the 800 block of Santa Maria Drive. Police say two white males were seen in the area hooking up the concrete mixer to a white flatbed truck and driving off with it. Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (630) 420-6006.
March for Babies raises funds:
Rain and chilly temperatures last weekend didn't stop 20,000 people from participating in March for Babies walks to raise money for March of Dimes. Statewide, $3.3 million was raised with nearly $450,000 of that from the DuPage County walk site in Naperville. Seven walk sites were in the Chicago area, including Grant Park in Chicago, the Naperville Riverwalk, Pottawatomie Part in St. Charles, Sunset Woods Park in Highland Park, Busse Woods in Elk Grove Village, Midlothian Meadows in Midlothian and Bolingbrook Promenade in Bolingbrook. The Chicago lakefront site raised the most, $1.2 million, followed by the DuPage site.
