Mother, 2 children missing from Downers Grove

Downers Grove police are asking the public for help in locating a mother and two young children who went missing Wednesday morning.

According to a written police statement, Carolyn Bossany of the 1300 block of Blanchard took her children, Claire, 10, and George, 7, to school Wednesday morning and never returned home. The children never arrived at school, either.

Carolyn's mother-in-law remained at the house and contacted Carolyn's husband, Steve Bossany, when Carolyn did not return home. Steve Bossany then contacted police.

Carolyn was last seen driving a gray 2005 Nissan Altima with Illinois license plates reading "LBR1834."

Although there has been no direct threat that she or her children will be harmed, police say Carolyn has exhibited some erratic behavior over the last few days where the safety of her and the children are a concern.
