Arlington Heights' Bangkok Cafe celebrates 15th year

The Bangkok Cafe celebrates its 15th anniversary by giving back to its customers. As a sign of thanks, this Thai restaurant is offering a free appetizer per table with any dinner through the month of May.

Wine festival

Libertyville's Vintner's Cellar Winery is just one of 50 featured vendors at the North Shore Wine Festival. One admission ticket gets you 10 tastings, wine information, a souvenir glass and a live performance by The Buckinghams.

Pinko-de-Mayo?

John Barleycorn Schaumburg celebrates Cinco de Mayo with an all-you-can-eat buffet and a special "Pinko-de-Mayo" fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. There are performances from comedians Dobie Maxwell and Patti Vasquez, plus an acoustic guitar set by Darryl Marquette.

The buffet is available from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 5. It costs $12.95 per person. The benefit runs from 7 to 11 p.m. Tickets cost $20 per person and include select cocktails. John Barleycorn is located at 1100 American Lane, Schaumburg. (847) 619-5540.
