SEC suit against Lucent execs tossed
Two Lucent Technologies Inc. executives won a judge's dismissal of civil fraud claims in a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission lawsuit filed over the company's booking of revenue in the 2000 fiscal year.
U.S. District Judge William Walls in Newark, New Jersey, granted motions by Jay Carter, who was president of a unit that sold products to AT&T Inc., and Michelle Hayes-Bullock, a finance manager, to dismiss the claims in a 2004 lawsuit against Lucent and 10 executives. Lucent was acquired in 2006 by Paris- based Alcatel SA to form Alcatel-Lucent SA.
The case is Securities and Exchange Commission v. Lucent Technologies Inc., 04-cv-2315, U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey (Newark).
