Stroger offers too little, too late

Do you really think you are doing Cook County residents and business owners a favor by reducing your ridiculous tax hike? That's insane, and I would think that a man in your position could do better than that. How about admitting it should never have never been increased in the first place. How much revenue have you taken away from the communities because of the high taxes? Consumers have traveled to other counties just to avoid paying the higher taxes.

What as a community do you have to show for it compared to the communities where there taxes remained lower?

All the hype about your decrease is because, and let's face the truth, Mr. Stroger, you would like to be re-elected in 2010. Maybe this is something you should have taken into consideration awhile ago. Everything always does come full circle.

The amount of consideration you gave the taxpayers is probably about as much consideration the voters will be giving you. Why do politicians continually make promises that they don't fulfill during an election, make bad or wrong decisions during their term, and expect all to be forgotten when they want to run again? I hope you can sleep at night because residents and business owners are not.

Good luck to you, which is more than you said to us after the Increase of our taxes.
