Volunteers, one of the nation's most valuable resources, work tirelessly to improve our community. During National Volunteer Week, April 19-25, thousands of these dedicated men, women, and young people here in DuPage County will be recognized for their efforts and their commitment to serve others. The year's theme, "Celebrating People in Action" recognizes ordinary people accomplishing extraordinary things through service

On behalf of all of us at DuPage PADS, I want to say a special thank you to the many volunteers here in DuPage County who are part of the solution to end homelessness everyday in our communities and in the lives of many of our neighbors. More than 4,000 volunteers make a difference in the lives of more than 900 men, women and children who are homeless or living at risk of becoming homeless in DuPage County. Because of the willingness of people who said, "Yes" to providing food, shelter and support, we continue to provide critical interim (Overnight), transitional and permanent supportive housing, support and employment services to move people from homelessness into housing.

Volunteers create a sense of hope and shared responsibility for people's future. They are the heart and soul of our work and help to bridge the gap between people who are homeless and our communities. Thank you DuPage PADS volunteers. Together we are part of the solution to end homelessness in DuPage County.
