Woman stabbed near Aurora's McCarty Park
Aurora police are searching for a man they believe attacked and stabbed a 23-year-old woman Saturday just outside McCarty Park, near Fourth Street and Galena Boulevard.
Police spokesman Dan Ferrelli said the woman was walking home from work about 10:50 p.m. Saturday when she repeatedly was grabbed and taunted by a "heavier-set Hispanic man, with brown eyes, black hair and a goatee and mustache; and wearing a flannel shirt."
Ferrelli said the woman told the man to get away but the suspect continued to grab her.
"When he didn't leave her alone, she kicked him in the groin area," he said.
The offender then threw the victim to the ground, pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed her in the thigh.
"Thankfully she was able to kick and get out of the situation and call police," he said.
The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics for a small knife wound.
