CouponCabin.com expands, moves from Hoffman
CouponCabin.com, which saw its profile rise dramatically since the recession hit, has grown so much it moved last month from its longtime Hoffman Estates office to larger quarters in Chicago.
It also boosted its Web site with a makeover, increased its staff from 32 to 42, and now offers e-mail alerts.
"The site needed a facelift and it's about time, especially since we wanted to add more content," said founder and President Scott Kluth.
About a week ago, CouponCabin.com launched its changes by including a growing grocery coupon section as well as local coupons by ZIP code for dining, car maintenance, health and beauty.
Kluth said the site, which provides more than 300 printable in-store grocery coupons for cereal, toothpaste and more, is easier to use and offers more deals. Discounts range from 50 cents to free deals.
Kluth founded the site about six years ago. It ranks 163rd overall by Inc. Magazine's Inc. 500.
Kluth plans even more growth. Already the site offers 1,400 online stores with more than 6,000 coupons. It includes live chat and a weekly newsletter highlighting top deals.
He estimates it has saved users roughly $50 million.
Since the recession hit, the site has seen more traffic and usage. The daily average number of visitors has reached 160,000, Kluth said.
"The economy had a lot to do with our changes," said Kluth. "But we also had to adapt ourselves to what people need."
