Bargain promwear at KYC Resale shop
Elk Grove Village-based Kenneth Young Center's Resale Shop at 1150 S. Roselle Road, in Schaumburg, is holding a Prom Dress Extravaganza during April. ECC has diversity recruitment fair
Individuals interested in working part-time or full-time at a community college are encouraged to attend Diversity Recruitment Fair 2009, at Elgin Community College from 4-7 p.m. today, April 22, in the ECC Visual and Performing Arts Center Commons on the main campus, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin. Free parking is available in lots 11 and 12, just west of Renner Drive. Human resources representatives from ECC and other area community colleges, like Kishwaukee College in Malta, will attend. Participants should bring résumés.

Bartlett's Center for the Arts now open
Arts in Bartlett has opened Bartlett's first gallery and arts center in downtown Bartlett at 117 Railroad Ave. The Center for the Arts' gallery features the work of local artists and Bartlett High School artists.
The Center is open to the public 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays or by appointment. Hours will be expanded during the summer. In May, the gallery will begin accepting commissioned artwork for sale. S. Barrington grand opening celebration
Members of the South Barrington community are invited to the grand opening celebration of the new South Barrington Community Park, at 8 Bridges Drive on May 24.
Opening Day activities include a fun run and fitness walk, kite fly, field dedications, ribbon cutting grand opening ceremony, train rides around the park, a complimentary barbecue lunch, a healthy kids show by Ronald McDonald and activities, games and sports for the whole family.
This is a free family event celebrating the community of South Barrington. Events will be held rain or shine.
Amplified phones made available
Schaumburg Township Disability Services has applications available for anyone interested in amplified telephones, for people with a certified hearing loss who have difficulty hearing on the telephone. The Illinois Telecommunications Access Corp. distributes amplified phones for free.
Each of the four phones has varying levels of amplification and adjustments for tone and clarity. The amplified phones range from 40-60 decibels. There are no age or income requirements. Residents need telephone service, a picture ID and a doctor or licensed audiologist's signature on the required application.
