Green Choices for a Greener Future event

The Green Business Referral Exchange will celebrate Earth Day with "Green Choices For a Greener Future" from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, at The Pointe in Crystal Lake.

A representative from the Environmental Law and Policy Center will present its current legislative focuses and how they will impact our choices and lifestyle in the year ahead. The ELPC has spent years building coalitions, making policies, developing economic and environmental cases, and briefing and gaining support from key lawmakers. Laura Knezevic, ELPC representative and GBRE liaison, will discuss the Clean Car Act, cap and trade, high speed rail development, and other important environmental issues.

The GBRE Earth Day Celebration includes a networking event and displays of green products and services along with a presentation on socially responsible investing sponsored by Calvert Funds. The event schedule is as follows: open networking and displays from 6:30 to 7 p.m.; Environmental Law and Policy Center update from 7 to 7:40 p.m.; and Socially Responsible Investing presentation from 7:45 to 8:45 p.m.
