Now is time for real health-care reform
I cannot believe that lobbyists and Congressional aides as quoted in The New York Times think that health-care reform should come only after "several years" of the insurance companies not "reining in costs." We need health care for everyone even more so now with all of the people who are out of work due to the failed economy of George Bush and his era of cronyism. What is this, but more of the same? It is time to hold insurance companies responsible for their huge profits and disservice to the people, and it is time for every legal American to have health insurance. If Medicare is not included in any health-care plan, then it is not health-care reform. American citizens need to have be able to choose between the for-profit insurance they already have or a public health care option like Medicare. Of course, the insurance companies don't want people to have a choice, because then they would actually have to provide better service at a lower cost. Right now, one in six Americans are either uninsured or underinsured. It is time for real health-care reform in America. Don't let the insurance companies win this battle.
