Don't let lobbyists block health reform
I've seen in media reports recently that lobbyists for the health insurance industry and Congressional aides have discussed compromising on the issue of heath-care reform. The government will enact a government-run insurance program only if private insurers fail to reduce the cost of health care after a certain number of years. That's not health care reform. That's just more of the same. With one in six Americans uninsured and millions more underinsured, the only way to guarantee health care coverage for all Americans is to let the people decide for themselves whether they want to keep their private insurance (if they have it) or enroll in a public health care option like Medicare. We must not let health insurance lobbyists stand in the way of guaranteed health care for all Americans.
