Let's share the social security pain
The current generations who are "adults" have repeatedly voted to pass on the responsibility for our retirements to the next generations. Now we have laid a colossal economic egg, and as usual are seeking to minimize the consequences and our pain by spending money we do not have. But before we just vote to pass this additional burden on to our children and grandchildren and great grandchildren etc., how about we grow up a bit? Let's share some of the pain by paying for every dollar of the stimulus and bailout with a dollar of reduced benefits in Social Security and Medicare. It's only fair and just.
