Ela Township annual meeting:
Ela Township holds its annual town meeting tonight at 7:30 in the new town hall, 1155 E. Route 22 in Lake Zurich. A petition aiming to increase transparency in government will be discussed. The petition requests that all meetings be recorded and broadcast on a public access channel, that the township budget be posted on the Web site within two weeks of its adoption and that all approved township expenditures be posted on the Web site as well. Township Supervisor Lucy Prouty will present the township's budget for fiscal year 2009-2010.
Warren principal leaving:
Warren Township High School District 121 is losing its Almond Campus principal, who is leaving at the end of the school year to become a school superintendent in Wisconsin. Doug Domeracki came to Warren in 2006 after being principal at Stevenson High School District 125 and Grayslake High School District 127. Overall, he has been in education for 23 years, with 16 as a building administrator. He will be superintendent in Cuba City, Wis., a prekindergarten through 12th-grade system. Located in southwest Wisconsin, the school system was recognized in 2007 by the U.S. Department of Education as a Blue Ribbon School.
