Is this an enlightened idea?
Let me get this straight: To heighten the awareness of global warming the Benedictine University students turned off their lights for an hour Saturday night and lit their campus with a bonfire. Haven't they been taught that bonfires spew carbon dioxide and ash into the atmosphere, and that lights in Northern Illinois are powered almost exclusively from nuclear power at night, which emits no carbon dioxide or other pollutants to the atmosphere? I hope Assistant Professor Jean-Marie Kauth teaches about the global warming benefit of nuclear power in her classes. If not, I'm sure ComEd would be glad to assist her with some teaching material.
