Relay Survivor Quilt on display in Bartlett

Arts of Bartlett is currently showcasing the Survivor Quilt for the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Bartlett, Hanover Park and Streamwood.

The quilt was made in honor of those who have been touched by cancer and has been a longstanding tradition of the Relay. There are 60 squares on the quilt, each containing the name of a person who has survived the disease.

The idea for the first quilt came in 2005 at the suggestion of an American Cancer Society staff partner. Over the years, a second quilt was started, in addition to a Memorial Quilt, which honors people who have succumbed to cancer.

The quilt will be on display through the middle of April at the Bartlett Museum, 7 Railroad Ave.

The Relay For Life of Bartlett, Hanover Park and Streamwood will take place at Community Park in Hanover Park June 5-6. Teams are now forming and planning for the event is well under way. For information, contact Ashley at (847) 368-1166.
