Wesley joins brother on Wood Dale board

Roy Wesley will be joining his brother on the Wood Dale City Council.

With all 4 precincts unofficially reporting, Wesley won in a two-way race Tuesday against Arthur Wielga for Ward 2 alderman in the city's only contested election. Wesley garnered 243 votes, compared to 150 for his challenger.

A landscape specialist, Wesley, 43, is past president of the Wood Dale Fire District Board. His brother, Eugene, also is a local alderman.

Wielga, a 36-year-old real estate agent who owns a limo company, is a current Wood Dale School District 7 board member.

Both candidates have a history of community volunteerism and listed flooding as their top campaign concern.
