Two incumbents, newcomer Williams gets District 116 seats
Round Lake Area Unit District 116 voters went with familiar faces Tuesday and returned two of three incumbents to the board.
With 21 of 21 precincts reporting, unofficial totals showed incumbents Ann Welk with 1,302 votes and W. Guy Finely with 909. Newcomer Douglas Raul Williams received 1,006 votes and will replace incumbent Tonesha Baker, who drew 641 votes.
Challengers Daniel Hartlieb (878 votes) and Juan Ponce (812) fell short of capturing one of the three seats.
Much of the campaign talk focused on regaining financial control from the state.
