Kane County

• A cedar fence valued at $200 was reported damaged Monday in a hit-and-run crash on the 6N400 block of Tucker Avenue, St. Charles Township, according to police.

• Checks and cash totaling $45 were reported stolen Monday from a vehicle on the 35W100 block of Fox River Drive, St. Charles Township, police said.

• Illegal dumping was reported Monday on the 43W500 block of Green Street, Blackberry Township, according to police.

• About 15 gallons of fuel were reported stolen Thursday from a vehicle on the 7S500 block of Welton Drive, Big Rock Township, according to police.

• Police destroyed two marijuana plants found growing in buckets Sunday on the 47W800 block of Beith Road, Campton Township.

St. Charles

• John Leotis Williams, 48, and James Patrick Overbeck, 17, both of the 100 block of North First Street in Geneva, were charged with retail theft March 15, according to a police report. The pair were caught running from a Meijer store with dozens of fishing lures. Williams told police they intended to trade the lures for drugs. Williams had a pending court case at the time of his arrest. He told police his plan was to trade the lures for cocaine so he could go to the sheriff's department and tell them where the crack houses were and gain leniency on his case.
