Man leaves hospital after crash that killed mom, daughter in Barr. Hills
The surviving driver of a fatal head-on collision in Barrington Hills Saturday has been released from the hospital, even as police continue their investigation.
Killed in the impact were Barbara R. Page, 30, of Wonder Lake and her 7-year-old daughter, Angelina. Page's 6-year-old daughter, Madison, remained in critical condition at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge Monday.
Page was driving a 2007 Ford Focus east on Route 62 when it crossed the double yellow lines and struck the rear of a westbound 1997 Nissan Sentra at 9:21 a.m. Sunday, police said. Page's vehicle then hit a westbound 1996 GMC head-on.
The driver of the GMC, Otilio Soto-Lopez of Carpentersville, and three passengers were taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates for treatment.
Officials said Soto-Lopez was released from the hospital Sunday, but there was no information available about his passengers. Their injuries were originally described by authorities as non-life-threatening.
Determination of the causes of death for Page and her older daughter are pending the outcome of the police investigation, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
