Leazer, Elk Grove stop Fenton

Elk Grove senior Krystina Leazer made her 2009 pitching debut a winning one on Friday in a nonconference softball game.

The veteran right-hander threw a 2-hitter with 9 strikeouts and no walks to blank visiting Fenton 13-0 in five innings.

Freshman Megan Keenan (3-for-3, 3 RBI), batting No. 8 in the Grenadiers' order as the designated player, belted 3 doubles.

Keenan was also 1-for-2 against Mundelein so she is 4-for-5 for the season.

Senior Caitlin Garrison, junior Olivia Roback and freshman Dani Goranson also doubled for the Grenadiers, who have a twinbill with visiting St. Charles North today at 1 p.m.

Barrington 10, Regina 0 (5 innings): Senior Kim Cygan (8-0) worked the first three innings, striking out seven as the Fillies improved to 8-0.

Sophomore Kiley Dolezal struck out one in 11/3 innings and freshman Jordan Wekony went the final 2/3.

Top hitters for the Fillies were Nora Logue (2-for-3, double, 3 RBI), Kiersten Tinkoff (2-for-4, RBI), Cygan (2-for-2) and Lindsey Dulla (2-for-4, 2 runs). Kristin Kuhn also doubled for the winners, who host Lane Tech today at 2 p.m.
