Valentine will watch park board expenses

I am voting for Chris Valentine for Barrington Park District commissioner. When I worked with Chris in the private sector I was most impressed with Chris's attitude of treating her employers money as prudently as she would treat her own funds.

That means as a new commissioner she would put an end to $6,000 Christmas party expenses spent in Deer Park for 15 park employees and nine board members. She would ensure that park district bond funds would be invested at competitive interest rates. She would put an end to self serving perks that are being paid for with our tax dollars.

As families pare back their spending and deal with rising taxes it is time to put new candidates into office who will manage our tax dollars as scrupulously as their family budget.
