Hovde, Stickney earned second terms

We endorse two candidates who are running for re-election as Barrington Park District commissioners for a 6-year term.

Linda Hovde and Jon Stickney have been significant voices as Barrington Park District commissioners for the past four years. During their term, the 55-acre Citizens Park was reformatted from the old Jewel Tea property to a magnificent facility for Barrington residents, both young and old, to enjoy. There are walking trails, an amphitheater for summer concerts, children's playground, basketball and tennis court, covered barbecue areas, and in winter an ice-skating rink for all to enjoy.

The new Recreation Center building at Langendorf Park will offer fitness facilities, class rooms and meeting rooms. New preschool, dance and wellness programs with adequate space for building worthwhile programs for all the citizens of Barrington. The mission that Linda Hovde and Jon Stickney have for the park district is to continue its good work by providing recreational and health related facilities that benefit all age groups in Barrington. As active community members, they have both lived in Barrington and have worked tirelessly with Barrington organizations for many years, always putting the best interest of fellow citizens first when deciding important issues.

They have served admirably in our best interest and deserve to be re-elected.

Vote for Linda Hovde and Jon Stickney on April 7th.
