Where were you in '02?

Stanley Cup playoff hockey in Chicago? Remember what that's like? It has been a while. The Blackhawks are going to the playoffs for the first time since 2002 and for only the second time in the last 10 NHL seasons.

• The last time the Hawks made the playoffs, Brian Sutter was in his first of three seasons as coach.

• The '02 Hawks went 41-27-13-1 for 96 points, but in Sutter's next two seasons they were 30-33-13-6 and 20-43-11-8. He was replaced by Trent Yawney following the 2004-05 lockout.

• Eric Daze led them in scoring with 38 goals and 70 points. Daze was out of the league two years later after a third back surgery.

• Jocelyn Thibault and Steve Passmore were the goalies. Both were gone two years later and are now out of the league.

• Bob Probert racked up 176 penalty minutes in his final season.

• The Hawks played poorly down the stretch, going 6-7-4 in their last 17 games, and couldn't turn it back on for the playoffs. They scored only 5 goals in five games in a first-round series loss to the St. Louis Blues, who were coached by Joel Quenneville.
