'One and done' test saves men's lives

Thank you for your article on the Better Biopsy for prostate cancer. Three years ago, my dad underwent the brachytherapy successfully at the Chicago Prostate Center in Westmont. He had undergone several uncomfortable biopsies after having a high PSA reading, which always came back negative.

After having numerous high readings, he agreed to one more biopsy where he told his doctor, "Take what you need this time, because I`m not doing this again."

The final time, they did discover cancer. Thankfully there is now a better, more extensive biopsy that will make repeat visits a thing of the past. Maybe more men will be screened if they know it can be a once and done kind of thing.

This is a cancer, that if found early, is very treatable. It makes no sense not to be able to detect it sooner. Thanks to Dr. Moran for discovering a better way to detect this cancer.
