Hey, we dissed the Brits first

Why is everybody so surprised and up tight about an English company disrespecting Chicago by renaming the Sears Tower? Look how we (U.S.) have recently disrespected the English. First, Churchill's statue, which was a gift after 9/11, portraying the fighting support of an ally is removed from the Oval Office and has since been rescued for display in the British Embassy. Then, Prime Minister Brown is treated rudely during an Oval Office visit by being denied (as not worthy) a joint news conference, which has been the custom with visiting national leaders. Finally, to add insult, the traditional exchange of gifts was really careless. Brown was thoughtful enough to give President Obama an ornamental pen holder made from the timbers of the Victorian anti-slave ship HMS Gannet. The President gave the prime minister 25 DVDs that weren't even in the proper format.
