Drugs, nine guns seized in Schaumburg; brothers arrested

Thousands of dollars in drugs and nine firearms have been seized from a Schaumburg residence, leading to the arrest of two brothers who live there.

Police executed a search warrant late Friday and said they turned up 41 grams of cocaine, 55 grams of marijuana, 111 tablets of the prescription anxiety drug Xanax, almost $600 in cash and drug paraphernalia including a scale, syringes and a glass pipe. The drugs had a street value totaling about $6,000.

Also found, police said, were two assault-style rifles, two other rifles, two shotguns and three handguns, one of which was loaded.

Authorities charged Sean K. Cerami, 45, of the 200 block of North Waterford Drive, with delivery of a controlled substance, delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a park, possession of cannabis with intent to deliver and armed violence. All are felonies.

His brother, Seamus K. Cerami, 39, was charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of hypodermic needles.

The elder Cerami was being held Monday on $25,000 bond.

Seamus Cerami was released after posting 10 percent of his $1,000 bond.

Both are due in court in Rolling Meadows next month.
