1 injured in Elburn crash
A Cortland woman was injured late Monday when her car struck an oncoming semitrailer near Elburn, police said.
The crash took place about 11 p.m. when a car driven by Christine A. Bowers, 22, crossed the center line on westbound Route 38 and hit a semitrailer traveling east near the Route 47 intersection, according to the Kane County sheriff's office. Bowers was flown to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening. The other driver was not hurt.
Police said Bowers was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane use and operating an uninsured vehicle.
