Annual Salute event raises $16,000-plus
Recently Salute, Inc. hosted its fifth annual Family Pizza Party at Arlington Park's Trackside and it was a great success! We had over 300 friends and supporters and raised over $16,000 dollars for our wounded service members and their families.
There are many folks to thank, especially Arlington Park for being such great supporters of this annual event, along with the Freitag Family, Ginos East, and our other sponsors and the local businesses that provided gifts for our event.
We also want to acknowledge and thank Arlington Heights Mayor Arlene Mulder for coming out to as she has these past five years to kick things off, and we want to extend a sincere and appreciative thank you to each and every person that came out and supported this cause, as I say after every event, we could not do this without each of you!
Over the evening we had the opportunity to hear from service members and their families that Salute has helped, recognize key individuals that have supported us over the last five years, and promoted upcoming events and initiatives. It was an excellent evening!
Given we are now in the season of Lent, it is a great time to not only ask what each of us can give up or what sacrifice we can make over this 40 day period, but what I would ask of each of you is to take a moment over these 40 days to say a prayer or even extend a thought of thanks to the men and women that serve our country each and every day.
Right or wrong, good times or bad, they have served us without question, let's not forget them and "honor their service and remember their sacrifices".
