Abortion foes should help the poor

Perhaps if Ruth Benedetto had any idea of American history, she could have written a letter that actually makes sense. Calling a secular constitutional representative democracy a "Christian nation" as she does (Bible spells out why Obama is wrong) just shows her ignorance, although at present she has plenty of company.

If these so-called citizens would have pulled their heads out of the Bible maybe they could have realized that by electing fake Christians like the Bush administration, they have actually made abortions much more common. How could this be? Because while Bush and Co. were playing the Christians, they did nothing for the poor - perhaps the most important group to Christ himself.

So, we live in a nation where abortions are safe, legal, and rare. Then the zealots, forsaking the Word of God, begin to worship G.W. Bush, who then paves the way for abortions to skyrocket due to a poor economy where people can no longer afford children.

Ironic, sad, and sinful. If you voted Bush, or any other Republican - get thee to a confessional.

Repent, see the error of your ways and make the world a better place. Help the poor.
