Man held in stabbing of security guard at Rolling Meadows Meijer
A 27-year-old Schaumburg man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with the stabbing of a security agent Tuesday evening at the Meijer store, Rolling Meadows police said Thursday.
Bradley Kellett, of the 600 block of Waterford Road, also was charged with aggravated battery and retail theft, police said, and his bond was set at $100,000.
The security agent was treated for a collapsed lung at Northwest Community Hospital, police said. He was no longer listed as a patient there on Thursday.
Police said Kellett entered the Meijer store, 1301 Meijer Drive, and hid three bottles of champagne, valued at less than $150, under his clothes. The security agent was stabbed when he tried to stop Kellett, police said.
