Governor's choice leads by example
Three cheers for Governor Quinn who set an example by flying to Washington, D.C. on a regular flight instead of in a private jet. We also note that he is able to stay in the Governor's mansion.
I'm sure most taxpayers would rather see "great examples" rather than glorified speeches - talk is cheap. It would be great to see more government employees setting examples by cutting expenses rather than raising taxes and making Illinois one of the highest taxed states in the United States.
Is there any other state representative that has enough character to set such an example of cost cutting? The taxpayers are waiting to hear about it.
Nancy Pelosi's big commuter jet is not a good example.
