Broda deserves another term

Lisle appears to be in an ideal position to take advantage of an economic turnaround, once it happens. Village leaders are planting seeds for redevelopment of the downtown and Ogden corridor once retail activity steps up. Lisle has received national praise for being a great place to live and has received several Governor's Hometown Awards. Village finances are in relatively good shape. Much of this success can be attributed to eight-year Mayor Joe Broda's leadership. Voters have the enviable situation of having two dedicated, passionate candidates. Newcomer Gary John Ledvora offers some unique ideas and some valid critiques of how things might be done differently, and shows potential as a village leader. But the Daily Herald enthusiastically endorses Broda so he can continue with a vision that would see a bustling downtown, attention to infrastructure needs, cautious spending and a solid plan for the future.
