Sex offender checks
A recent check of DuPage County's convicted sex offenders showed nearly all were in compliance with the state's registration law. A task force of 30 police agencies, led by the sheriff's office, visited 126 of the area's 350 registered sex offenders for the compliance checks. All but one - a 24-year-old Hanover Park man who failed to register his job location - were in compliance, officials said.

Workers help animals

Members of the Friends of DCACC board of directors, along with some of their four-legged companions, visited the clerk's office in Wheaton last week to present employees with a plaque.
