Time for new blood to lead Streamwood

We have many reasons to be proud as residents of the Village of Streamwood, including the stable financial condition of our local government, unlike many of our neighboring communities.

Our elected leaders have steered the village in a smooth, steady fashion, but I strongly feel that we have been missing out on opportunities for growth and development. It is time for some innovative, fresh leadership to bring new direction and business development to our community.

Based on my 18 years as an elected and appointed official serving Streamwood I believe we need to rebuild our relationships with neighboring elected officials, with our state elected representatives, with our federal elected representatives as well as with our village employees.

I strongly endorse Jason Speer for village president as a successful, innovative, creative business leader who truly cares about our community. Crain's Chicago Business recognized these unique skills in their Feb. 15 issue (page 10/11). The U.S. Chamber of Commerce recently asked Jason Speer to testify before a congressional committee to encourage help for small business.

We need to elect Jason Speer our new village president to help us grow our village business base and our relationships with our neighbors. We are not an island unto ourselves!
