Savior is the real cause for hope
Hey, remember us? We're among the lost citizens and voters of this country who live a quiet, responsible, and spiritually and meaningfully grounded life.
In our case, we retired nine years ago at 55 because we lived within or below our means, are debt free because of a paid-off mortgage before we retired, pay cash for new cars, and are blessed by God with four responsible, college-graduated children and spouses and three wonderful grandchildren. We have become culturally disconnected in less than a year's time.
Our investment portfolios, which provide the major source of our income, have been totally emaciated by decisions and bad actions and policies far removed from our lives. Our economy is bankrupt, and our ethics, morals and scruples are being trampled by atheistic, humanistic "heroes", leaders and politicians.
Recently, we hear the views expressed, again, of how George W. Bush usurped the power of the presidency with his policies and rights violations. Why are we not hearing from the same sources how the Obama crowd and liberal congressional leaders are presently usurping their powers by destroying our economy, perhaps for generations, and thumbing their noses at fundamental Christian values and teachings?
Frankly, we feel more threatened by the latter than the former. But, in all of this, we know that the lord is the true savior, and ultimate authority and controller of our lives and the real cause for hope.
