Looks like knives are out for Pinney again
It's been some time since we've heard anything from or about Leslie. Thank heavens our school board members are finally speaking out again!
Remember Leslie, she's the lone board member who questioned why five vans were purchased from Lattof for $104,000, when no other bids were brought in (BTW, Lattof contributed to the campaign of the three board members who refused to sign the minutes of that meeting).
Wasn't Pinney the one who wanted to inject some of her (shudder) Christian values to board meetings? The nerve! Which ones, I wonder, maybe not lying, cheating, killing or coveting? Humph!
And didn't I read several weeks ago about the $1 million District 214 spends on cabs for special ed and vocational students? But Dr. Schuler says that goes to two cab companies, the district is reimbursed $750,000, so why on earth ask for a better deal? Because it's a million of OUR dollars being spent! Wait a minute, my bad, were in Illinois, I almost forgot!
How many rides are purchased for $1 million? Could one hire some qualified drivers, buy four or five vans, and maybe still make a hefty profit? You think? Wait, the district already has four new vans.
Of course, Pinney was the one who brought up that issue too and she was the one who asked that certain books be removed from a required reading list, years back. The books everyone talked about, but how many kids actually read? And the kids who did read them, well, their lives were certainly fuller for it, like reading the classics!
Great to see the school board is supporting another of their own, not an individual like Pinney, because after all, in Bragaw's words, things just aren't working. Tough, get over it, compromise, grow up!
