Nothing else to write about?

Wednesday, March 4, 2009, 8:10 a.m. I open up my daily herald, (notice the lowercase letters) and find "A haunting anniversary" article front page, top headline ... give me a break. In all the news in all of Illinois, in all of DuPage County, you trek back 10 years to find a sensational tragedy and you relive the entire account for who? Does this article help anyone? Does sticking our heads in the past allow us to be present here and now? Does the article fill us with the wonder of a small child? Does it help us to find peace of mind, happiness, joy? Or did you write the article to sell sensationalism? The lowercase letters are there to let you know that I expect more of you. Earn your place, earn your grade one day at a time. Find what is right and good. Today. Stay present and allow a new form of journalism to evolve. In case you haven't noticed, we cannot live one second in the past or the future. All we have is now.
