Waubonsee parents night
Waubonsee Community College is hosting a parents night from 6 to 8 tonight in the Event Room of the Academic and Professional Center on the college's Sugar Grove Campus, Route 47 at Waubonsee Drive. Parents of current high school students are invited to attend this free event that will feature speakers, campus tours, refreshments and a raffle for a $100 gift card. 'Spring Fling' in Batavia
Four Beans Coffeehouse will hold a "Luck O' the Irish Spring Fling" from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at 1928 W. Wilson St., just east of Randall Road. This customer appreciation event will feature special offers and door prizes from local vendors, green tea tastings and more. Long Elburn tradition
St. Gall Catholic Church will host its annual St. Patrick's Day dinner from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday in the church hall, 120 W. Shannon St. (at Route 47) in Elburn. The tradition began 126 years ago. Carryouts will be available at the American Legion Post 630 at 112 N. Main St. Dinner includes roast turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, coleslaw, cranberry sauce, rolls and pie. Cost is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $4 for children aged 6-12. Rush-Copley gets high marks
Rush-Copley Medical Center's recent employee engagement survey revealed the hospital's employees are among the most satisfied in the nation. Responses placed the Aurora hospital among the top 5 percent of hospitals surveyed nationally. The annual survey measures the level of engagement employees have through their response to questions about work environment, whether they would refer a friend or family member or consider looking for another job. According to the survey, 86 percent are "extremely satisfied" at work and 85 percent would refer others.
