Palatine League hosts forum
The League of Women Voters of the Palatine Area will host a candidates' forum at 7 p.m. March 19 at Altergott Auditorium, Palatine High School, 1111 N. Rohlwing Road. Invited candidates are the four candidates running for Palatine mayor and candidates for Village Council District 1, Palatine Township Elementary District 15, the Palatine Library Board and Palatine Park District Board. Uncontested candidates for District 211, Harper College and Salt Creek Park District have been invited to attend and be recognized.
The mayoral candidates will do questions and answers, while other contested candidates will give a two-minute introductory speech. For details: Susan Spengler, spengler41@comcast.net.
ECC Job Fair will waive employer fee
Elgin Community College is waiving the $275 registration free for employers who participate in its Job Fair, 3-7 p.m. April 2 in the Spartan Events Center on the main campus, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin. In addition to connecting with job seekers, the event offers employers an opportunity to showcase their products and services, strengthen their community presence, broaden their reach and maximize recruitment efforts. Rotary has money for local agencies
The deadline is March 20 for area community groups that want to apply to the Schaumburg Hoffman Estates Rotary Club for money to fund their local projects. Groups applying for funding must be designated 501(c) and grants are limited to projects that are being completed in Schaumburg or Hoffman Estates, or by organizations that serve these towns as part of their projects.
