March 14 forum for Arlington hopefuls

The League of Women Voters of the Arlington Heights, Mount Prospect and Buffalo Grove Area will host a candidate forum March 14 that involves the races for District 214, the Arlington Heights village presidency and village board, Wheeling Township, the Arlington Heights Park District and the Arlington Heights Memorial Library.

The forum will be held at Arlington Heights Village Hall, 33 S. Arlington Heights Road. This is free and doors open to the public at 9:15 a.m.

At 9:30 a.m., the candidates for village president, trustees and District 214 will participate in a Q&A. At 12:30 p.m., candidates for Wheeling Township, Arlington Park District and Arlington Heights Memorial Library will make short statements.

The election is April 7. The forum will be shown live and rebroadcast on the village access channel, Channel 6 on WideOpenWest. Those attending may park on any level of the municipal garage.

Duet to play music of Rachmaninoff

Cellist Jill Kaeding and pianist Jeffrey Panko will be featured in "The Music of Rachmaninoff," an afternoon of chamber music at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 29, at The South Church, 501 S. Emerson St., Mount Prospect. A reception follows. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and students. Featured compositions will include Rachmaninoff's "Cello Sonata," "Vocalise" and various preludes and études for solo piano.

Special occasion dress resale at KYC
