Red light cameras in Lombard

Lombard police are set to begin their red light photo enforcement program at the intersection of Roosevelt and Finley roads, one of the most dangerous spots in the village. The village has contracted with RedSpeed Illinois, a Lombard-based company, to install the cameras and monitor violations. The cameras already are functional and police will issue warning citations for at least three weeks. Violators can expect to receive actual citations after March 30, with tickets costing $100.

Rush-Copley gets high marks

Rush-Copley Medical Center's recent employee engagement survey revealed that the hospital's employees are among the most satisfied in the nation. Responses placed the Aurora hospital among the top 5 percent of hospitals surveyed nationally. The annual survey measures the level of engagement employees find in their workplace through their response to questions about work environment, whether they would refer a friend or family member or consider looking for another job. According to the survey, 86 percent are "extremely satisfied" at work and 85 percent would refer others to work there.

Budget talks in Naperville

Naperville City Council members will discuss the city's budget at a workshop at 3:30 p.m. today at city hall, 400 S. Eagle St. A second workshop is slated for 3 p.m. Tuesday, when council members will discuss the allocation of Special Events and Cultural Amenities funds. Dual-language learning

A Dual Language information meeting and open house will be held at 6 p.m. March 17 at Gary School, 130 E. Forest Ave., West Chicago. Following a presentation on Dual Language, parents of children participating in the program as well as Dual Language teachers and directors will answer questions. School District 33 offers students entering kindergarten an opportunity to be literate in reading, writing and speaking both English and Spanish by the end of sixth grade.
