Nunda Township referendum all wet
Vote no on the April 7 Nunda Township tax increase referendum. I have yard signs that read, "Vote No on the Referendum." I will have fliers soon for distribution explaining why the Nunda proposal is unnecessary. I'll need distributors.
Incidentally, the yard signs are generic, so they can be used to oppose any tax increase proposal in the area.
The Nunda Open Space Report is mainly about water. Many people assume it's about reducing congestion, but that topic isn't addressed. What the report also didn't address is its main subject - water quality. It doesn't say there's a concern with the current water quality. It does not imply that there may be a problem in the future. It does not acknowledge that the water from Crystal Lake, McHenry (both county and city), Island Lake, and Woodstock all meet EPA standards. Water doesn't recognize political boundaries.
The water in Nunda Township isn't confined to Nunda - it is (excuse the pun) fluid. Why spend $15 million to address something that isn't a problem now, and isn't expected to be a problem?
