Art contest extends deadline
Naperville Art League has extended the deadline for its fifth annual Public Art Competition, "On the Edge." Entries will be accepted from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays until March 28 at the Naperville Fine Art Center and Gallery, 508 N. Center St., Naperville. Adults and children can submit pieces interpreting the theme in virtually any media. The works will be exhibited at the gallery April 4 and 5, and awards will be presented at a reception at 3 p.m. April 5. For details, call (630) 355-2530 or napervilleartleague.com.
Addison police seek feedback
A team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc., will arrive April 4 to examine all aspects of the Addison Police Department. Chief Timothy Hayden said this is part of a voluntary process to gain accreditation from the commission, a recognition of law enforcement excellence. As part of the assessment, agency employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments at 7 p.m. April 6 at the Addison Public Library, 4 Friendship Plaza.
