Kareem Amedu Neuqua ValleyThe 6-foot-5 junior center is just coming into his own. Steady improvement, a feathery touch and great athleticism earned Upstate Eight all-conference honors behind averages of 11 points, 4.9 rebounds and 60 percent shooting. Coach Todd Sutton said, "He's learning every single day."

Drew Crawford Naperville CentralThe 2008-09 All-Area basketball captain, Crawford excelled in all phases for the DuPage Valley champs and earned player of the year honors. Averaging 24 points and 8.7 rebounds, the 6-foot-5 senior will play at Northwestern. "A tremendous player and person," coach Pete Kramer said.

Dwayne Evans Neuqua ValleyThe 6-foot-5 junior forward has six college scholarship offers and counting. All-Upstate Eight and York's Thanksgiving MVP, Evans averages 9.1 rebounds and 14.3 points on 52 percent shooting. Todd Sutton said, "He makes plays, he's an awesome rebounder, very strong inside, a good passer."

James Fleming Glenbard NorthA program record 39 points against West Chicago was just one example of Fleming's scoring ability. The 6-foot junior made 53 3-pointers but could also drive and finish, averaging 17 points as an all-DuPage Valley performer. "He can score in so many different ways," coach Joe Larson said.

Reggie Greenwood Timothy ChristianA transfer from Fenwick, the quick, 5-foot-8 junior point guard was all-tourney at Lisle and all-conference for the Private School League champs. He averaged 11.9 points with a high of 24, plus 3.0 assists and 2.9 steals. Trojans coach Jack LeGrand said, "He's a kid who always gets the job done."

Tyler Griffith West ChicagoAfter gaining experience as a sophomore, Griffith emerged as an all-DuPage Valley performer this junior season. A pure post talent, the 6-foot-6 center was a constant double-double threat who averaged 16.3 points and 7.6 rebounds. "He's so valuable in the post," coach Kevin Gimre said.

Jordan Harks Glenbard SouthLooking at his season you'd never guess Harks is a first-year starter and former Freshman B player. The 6-foot-6 senior forward exploded for 21.5 points and 8.3 rebounds as one of the Western Sun's elite players. "He just keeps getting better and better," coach Wade Hardtke said.

Malcolm Herron Downers Grove SouthTwice All-Area, Herron earned a second all-West Suburban Gold honor. More of a scorer last year, the 6-foot-4 senior guard added better passing and defense as the team claimed a Gold title. Herron averaged 14.7 points and 4.8 rebounds. "He's done it all for us," coach Paul Runyon said.

Jelani Johnson Waubonsie ValleyLong, lanky and headed to play at Western Illinois, the 6-foot-5 senior forward averaged 17.0 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.3 steals. A good shooter with hops, he is a two-time all-Upstate Eight choice. Coach Steve Weemer said, "Character counts in so many things, and he has great character."

David Mallett Naperville CentralSurging late in the season, Mallett helped propel his team to the DuPage Valley title. The 6-foot-2 senior hit 56 percent of his DVC 3-point shots. For the season he knocked down 56 3s and averaged 10.1 points and 3 boards. "He contributes in all aspects of the game," coach Pete Kramer said.

Kyler Market WillowbrookA four-year varsity contributor, this 6-foot-5 senior was a cornerstone player. Market graduates as the program's career leader in scoring and games played. The all-West Suburban Gold pick averaged 12.8 points and 6 rebounds. "He's given so much to our program," coach Tim Lavorato said.

Zach Miller Glenbard EastA two-year starter as a sophomore, Miller controlled games with or without scoring. The 5-foot-9 guard averaged 14.1 points and 5.6 assists and broke a DuPage Valley record with 27 straight free throws. "We felt comfortable putting the ball in his hands from Day One," coach Scott Miller said.

Reilly O'Toole Wheaton Warrenville SouthHitting a game-winner against Walther Lutheran and scoring 31 against Naperville Central, the 6-foot-3 all-DuPage Valley sophomore thrived taking over games. O'Toole hit 78 3s on 41 percent shooting, averaging 13 points and 3 boards. "He has a very high athletic IQ," coach Mike Healy said.

Matt Purdom Immaculate ConceptionAn inside force at 6-foot-5, 260 pounds, the two-time all-Suburban Catholic Conference center averaged 16.9 points and 9.0 rebounds to rank third in each career category at IC. Knights coach Darren Howard said, "He's the best quality kid I've ever coached, not just being a basketball player."

Derek Raridon Neuqua ValleyThe heart of Neuqua's all-time wins leader is this 6-foot-6 senior forward who'll play for his dad at North Central College. Twice all-Upstate Eight, the UEC MVP averages 13.2 points and 2.4 assists per turnover. Coach Todd Sutton said, "Probably the smartest basketball mind I've been around."

Tim Rusthoven Wheaton AcademyThis 6-foot-8 junior is a double-double machine who interests, among others, Notre Dame, Northwestern and Davidson. The all-Private School League center averaged 19.8 points, 10.7 rebounds and 4.4 blocks. Warriors coach Paul Ferguson said, "I think his strongest attribute is his versatility."

Paul Sanders Glenbard East"Big Silent" let his play do the talking. A dominant post, Sanders dunked in the season's first eight games. The 6-foot-4 senior all-DuPage Valley pick also could knock down jumpers, averaging 14.1 points and 6 rebounds. "He's turned into a terrific young man," coach Scott Miller said.

Dave Sobolewski BenetThis 6-foot sophomore guard made an instant impact after missing the first five games with a knee injury. Sobolewski averaged 16.7 points and 4 assists and earned an all-East Suburban Catholic selection. "We had high expectations, and he met them," coach Gene Heidkamp said.

Julius Staisiunas Downers Grove SouthStrong inside and out, Staisiunas helped the Mustangs to the West Suburban Gold title. Solid defense and forceful board work complemented a steady jumper. The 6-foot-1 senior averaged 10.3 points and 8.9 rebounds. "He's made tremendous improvements," coach Paul Runyon said.

John Whitelaw Hinsdale CentralThis all-West Suburban Silver point guard's ballhandling and leadership drew solid reviews from every coach in the division. A 6-foot-1 junior, he averaged 10.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.9 steals and 5.1 assists for the Red Devils. Coach Ed Lynch said, "He has the ability to change a game."
