Gunman robs Schaumburg store
An armed robber made off with a couple hundred dollars in cash from a Schaumburg store Monday night.
Schaumburg police Sgt. John Nebl said the incident occurred at 8:20 p.m. at a retail store on the 1400 block of East Golf Road, in the Woodfield Village Green shopping center.
Though department policy prevented Nebl from identifying the exact business, witnesses reported seeing the robbery in progress at the Game Stop store at the shopping center.
No one was injured.
According to reports, a man entered the store, displayed a handgun, demanded cash and then ran out with the amount he’d been given.
The gunman was described as black, 20 to 30 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall and about 200 pounds with a medium build.
He wore a black hat, black ski mask, glasses, a gray hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
Nebl said there have been no similar incidents reported.
