Be grateful for our wonderful parks

This is in response to the letter from Patti Ullo about the noise in the parks (2/23 Neighbor Fencepost).

It sounds as if Patti is a glass is half empty kind of gal. Instead of complaining about the noise, why not be thankful for living in a community that is able to give us many wonderful, beautiful parks.

Be thankful for the children and parents who are anxious to take part in being with a team where many life lessons can be learned, respect being one of them - the alternative being undeveloped open land and kids running around unsupervised on the streets!

For the few people who are disrespectful, there are many respectful ones who outnumber them.

If the noise is so bad on those weekends, may I suggest venturing out to one of the many other parks in Schaumburg. Perhaps a nice walk through Spring Valley Nature Center, listening to the chirping birds and quiet there would do you a world of good!
