Change of plan for Starbucks

Starbucks has abandoned plans for a completely new building along Roosevelt Road in Lombard. Instead, the coffee franchise is seeking permission from village leaders to expand its existing kiosk near Main Street. An advisory panel has recommended approval and the village board is expected to vote on the request Thursday, March 5.

Used car dealership may open in Lombard

The owners of the shuttered Westgate Lincoln Mercury car dealership in Lombard hope to open another business - a used car dealership - at that location. The previous business, which focused on new cars, closed in late 2006. Village plan commission members already have recommended approval of the new proposal. Village trustees are expected to review the plans during their board meeting Thursday, March 5.
